About Tudzura
Ryoriya Residence is situated in Nishi Amidaji, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, an area that once flourished as a historic castle town. This house, with a history spanning over 130 years, originally operated as a traditional Japanese inn, hosting weddings, banquets, and other events.
In 2021, we undertook extensive renovations and rebranding, transforming the house into a multi-purpose facility now known as "ShowkoClub." Our establishment, "Ryoriya Residence Tudzura," is located on the second floor.
The interior of the residence retains its historical charm while offering a variety of rooms that blend history with modernity. At the forefront is the executive suite named "Jikunoma-Shirotsuki," alongside various other room types designed to suit our guests' diverse preferences and styles. "The Fusion of History and Modernity" defines our concept. Ryoriya Residence Tudzura is a unique accommodation that fosters the exchange of diverse cultures and brings together people of all ages, backgrounds.
Thoughts of the host
This area (Shin-machi / Furu-machi) has a close relationship historically with Korea, so I feel attached to this area as a Korean.
Beyond the past war history between Korea and Japan, Kumamoto city established a sister city relationship and exchange with Ulsan city in Korea.
Passing down this legacy, I hope that this house and its history that exceeds 130 years will be a place where everyone can freely have cultural exchanges with each other, regardless of age, nationality and race.
I would like to spread knowledge of attractions in this area to people who live in Japan, and also to people visiting from foreign countries.
